Competitive Bidding Relating to a Technology Development Project to Deal with Accidents of Nuclear Power Reactors and so on [Preliminary Announcement]

Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy, Ltd. (hereinafter, referred to as “HGNE”) has announced that it will accelerate research and development for dealing with accidents of nuclear power reactors and so on (particularly, in regard to restoration from the accidents at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, Tokyo Electric Power Co.), in order to contribute to restoration from nuclear accidents and hazards.

As a part of this project, we plan to place orders for the individual item and thus we will hold competitive bidding for the item shown below in a month or so from now. Although we have not yet posted the bid manual and specification, please refer to the item name and the outlines of the item described below.

We plan to post the official bid manual and specification on the HGNE website (in Japanese). The official bid manual and specification are posted in Japanese and the English summary version of specifications is attached as reference. For this bid it shall be applied by Japanese subsidiary, and the documents shall be submitted in Japanese only.

Item name: Design and fabrication for the investigation device which is accessible from PCV penetration X-100B

Outline:
We ask for design and fabrication for the investigation device which is accessible from Pressure containment vessel (PCV) penetration (X-100B).
The outline specifications of such the investigation device are as follows:
  • This device shall have compatible functions for running in the guide pipe (ID: 100mm) installed in X-100B and for running on the grating installed in PCV with keeping running stability and running over obstacles on the grating.
  • This device shall be able to carry 3 items (CCD camera, temperature instrument and dose meter) at once during running in the guide pipe and on the grating.
  • The running feature shall be a crawler type, unitized, and waterproof mechanisms to increase reliability.
