For nuclear power plants that have been in operation for more than 30 years, technical evaluations for plant aging are conducted. To accurately understand age-related degradation of equipment and facilities and ensure safe plant operation, we are engaged in integrated maintenance management that seamlessly links inspection, evaluation, repair, and life extension of equipment and facilities.
Based on functional evaluations of equipment and facilities, we propose appropriate inspections, repairs, and replacements.
By utilizing advanced digital technologies such as robotics, AI, and information integration platforms, we provide integrated management processes ranging from inspection to equipment evaluation, repair, and replacement, enabling shorter outage periods, suppression of long-term unplanned shutdowns, and extension of plant service life.
As a technology to mitigate stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in reactor internals, which significantly affects long-term operation and capacity factors of nuclear power plants, we are conducting technology development for domestic introduction of On-Line NobleChem (OLNC*), which has been applied to all BWR plants in the United States. Through the development of new technologies such as iron/iron-oxide sensors (Fe-type sensors) that measure corrosion potential as an effectiveness indicator of OLNC application, we contribute to long-term reliability improvement of reactor internals.
